Nature Through a Lens

February 2025

An all in one, nature is a balm for the soul, rejuvenation for the body, and therapy for the mind. Just a few minutes outdoors
can begin the healing process, gently detoxifying us of the grit and grime of city life.

While we see nature through naked eyes, photographers have a more intimate relationship, seeing nature up-close in vivid, myriad hues. In our Cover Story, we go behind the lens with five camerapersons and bring you stunning shots from locations as varied as Iceland, the Philippines, Greenland, Kashmir, Kerala, and Himachal Pradesh. They not only tell us about their most challenging shoot but also show us the kind of rigour and discipline it takes to get that perfect frame. Elsewhere, we chat with Wildlife Trust of India ambassador, Dia Mirza, whose campaigns against plastic pollution, biodiversity loss, and climate change have had significant impact. Attempts such as hers, to protect the natural world, allow us to enjoy wildflowers in bloom, as you can see in our photo feature, Frame by Frame.

In other stories, we give you a glimpse of Melbourne through a unique sport played there, called trugo. We show you how to maximise 12 hours in buzzy Bangkok. Closer home, the buzz is at Prayagraj, to which we have started daily flights from both Delhi and Mumbai till 28th February. Devotees from all over the world throng the once-in-a-lifetime Maha Kumbh Mela—an experience six writers have penned for us.

From finding strength in divinity to seeking solace in nature, inspiration is everywhere. Just look!

Happy reading and Namaste!
