Unity in Diversity
September 2025
Varied dialects and languages, cuisines, colours, festivals, cultures and customs—the unity in India’s diversity manifests itself in various forms.
In our Cover Story this month, meet London-based couple Jenny and Adam who witnessed it first hand on their sabbatical when they set out to truly explore India. They named their passion project ‘Bharat 108’ and spent seven months in an autorickshaw riding over 13,000km. At every step, they were touched by the warmth, generosity, and hospitality from the people. “This unity is not loud… It is something you feel in the quiet act of a stranger handing you water, a mechanic refusing payment, and a home offered with no strings attached.”
Our cabin crew is much the same, hailing from over 450 Indian cities and coming together as one cohesive team in the sky. In this issue, we talk to a few of them about their roots and traditions. Also paying homage to his hometown
is singer-composer Papon, who pens a heartfelt note on how music brings the country together.
Be it music or a simple tradition, take time to appreciate life. In Body, wellness expert Luke Coutinho emphasises why it is so important to press pause. In Soul, we explore a Parisian suburb through the art of flânerie—leisurely
exploration. In Mind, we introduce you to a unique bookstore in Los Angeles, where the art of reading is brought alive in myriad ways.
With this issue, the magazine returns after two months as we recommit ourselves in the memory of those we lost with AI 171. We remain grateful for the support you’ve shown us through this difficult time.
We remain committed to building Air India into a ‘world-class, global airline with an Indian heart’. Happy reading!
